If bold text is used inside an assessment question, all the text for the question will appear as bold to students or users in student view.

The Blackboard text editor tool was automatically inserting <strong> tags into the content of the questions.

Please apply the following workaround to resolve the issue. Note that this workaround must be applied to each question in the assessment.

Insert a CSS style code into each question, which overrides the original Blackboard CSS style tags.  HTML code in bold red below is for future reference until Blackboard resolves this known issue:
